Customs, security and safety – Nagel-Group receives AEO status three times

In 2020, the Nagel-Group obtained the AEO status in no less than three companies. Kraftverkehr Nagel in Germany, Nagel Italia and Nagel Langdons are now Authorised Economic Operators (AEO).

AEOThe British subsidiary Nagel Langdons has been certified as AEOC (an economic operator authorised for customs simplifications), Kraftverkehr Nagel and Nagel Italia have been successfully certified as AEOF (an economic operator authorised for a combination of customs simplifications, security and safety).

Companies have to meet extensive requirements to receive the AEO certificates. In addition to reliability and financial solvency, these include, for instance, strict compliance with customs legislation and taxation rules, appropriate record-keeping in the area of transport and warehouse processing, along with professional qualifications in the area of practical customs clearance. The combined certificate further requires maintaining appropriate security and safety standards.

Under the current customs legislation, AEO certification is one of the requirements for the issuance of some customs authorisations, which are of considerable importance for international commerce with non-EU countries, and in the future also with the UK.

Having received certification for three major subsidiaries, the Nagel-Group emphasises that it can provide the most reliable service and handle customs matters in these countries professionally.

“An AEO is particularly reliable and trustworthy. The international supply chains whose participants are AEOF-certified are considered to be particularly secure. The Nagel-Group also represents this. Therefore, I am very pleased that our company fulfils the extensive requirements for the AEO certification and has successfully passed the on-site inspections at several customs relevant sites,” says Marcel Vogler, Managing Director of Kraftverkehr Nagel.

“The AEO certificate completes the preparations of Nagel Langdons for Brexit in the UK. The Nagel-Group is now well prepared to be able to offer customers all the necessary measures for customs clearance in 2021,” stated Arran Osman, Managing Director of Nagel Langdons, and Michael Schymik, International Director at Nagel Langdons.

“Nagel Italia can thus offer the Nagel-Group customers simplified customs-clearance procedures for shipping Italian foodstuffs and ensure the security of the international supply chains to and from Italy in our area of competence,” emphasises Klaus Pintus, Managing Director of Nagel Italia.
