Nagel-Group certified according to state-of-the-art energy management
Leading by example: The Nagel-Group had its energy management re-certified to the ISO standard 50001:2018 by the certification company TÜV. The aim: to make future energy use even more efficient.
The energy market is evolving: The carbon tax, the fossil-fuel and nuclear power phase-out, as well as climate protection, impose enormous demands on sectors like food logistics. The Nagel-Group is aware of its responsibility and continuously optimises its energy behaviour. “We perform energy management to use energy more efficiently and reduce energy use,” explains Silvio Weiß, Project Manager for Energy Management.
The Nagel-Group worked towards these goals by optimising its energy management and simultaneously renewing the existing ISO 50001 certification according to the latest standard. “We did not shy away from the effort. In 2019, we rolled out our energy management system and developed it significantly further,” says Silvio Weiß. The interdisciplinary project was a success thanks to the collaboration of different departments and the intensive exchange with the sites.
The updated standard is highly practically oriented and requires specific evidence of energy savings. The information enables deriving even more substantiated measures for optimising energy efficiency.
