Christmas donation 2024: Nagel-Group supports international projects of SOS Children’s Villages
Hamburg/Versmold, 18 DeCember 2024. With a Christmas donation of 50,000 euros, Nagel-Group is once again supporting the aid projects of SOS-Kinderdorf e. V. in 2024.
The logistics service provider is supporting five international initiatives of the aid organisation for the eleventh time. As part of this year’s Christmas campaign, customers and employees once again had the opportunity to vote on the distribution of the funds.
Marion Nagel, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Nagel-Group, emphasises: ‘It is very important to us to help where it is most needed through our Christmas campaign. The high level of participation from our customers and employees year after year shows that we take our social responsibility very seriously. Thanks to the support of all of us, we will once again be able to make a valuable contribution to improving the living conditions of children and families in need in 2024. My thanks go to everyone who voted and made this important campaign possible.’
Projects from Germany, Denmark, Austria, Poland and the Czech Republic were selected for this year’s campaign. Each project was presented in a public voting process. Almost 30,000 votes from employees, customers and followers of Nagel-Group’s social media channels decided on the distribution of the total amount on the company’s own website.
1st place: The Polish project ‘SOS-Familienstärkung (FSP) Karlino’ receives support totalling 20,000 euros. This grant will be used to provide children and young people with hot meals every day from Monday to Friday. The children who attend the FSP come from low-income families and for many of them, the meal at the FSP is the only hot meal they receive each day.
2nd place: The ‘SOS Children’s Village Horne’ project in the Czech Republic is being supported with a grant of 10,000 euros. The Czech initiative uses these funds to offer families support and prevent children from being placed in state care. Here, parents can stabilise their living conditions while their children are cared for in a safe and loving environment.
3rd place: A project in Denmark also received a grant of 10,000 euros. The money will be used to help some of the most vulnerable families in Laos to stand on their own two feet. Together, families in need are strengthened by providing them with a livelihood, access to education and family counselling.
4th and 5th place: Projects in Germany and Austria are being supported with a sum of 5,000 euros each. The German initiative will use the funding for counselling and training for families in need at the Women’s Communication Centre. The Austrian project will use the donation to support mobile family support and counselling.
About SOS Children’s Villages e.V.
SOS Children’s Villages provides a home for children in need and helps to improve the social situation of disadvantaged young people and families. In SOS Children’s Villages, children whose biological parents are unable to look after them for various reasons grow up in a family environment. The SOS Children’s Villages Association accompanies mothers, fathers or families and their children from the very beginning in mother and family centres. It offers early support in its children’s and meeting centres. It supports young people with open programmes, but also offers them a home in youth residential communities and prospects in vocational training facilities. SOS Children’s Villages also includes the village communities for people with mental and psychological disabilities. In Germany, a total of around 4,600 employees help in 38 facilities. The organisation reaches and supports around 83,500 people in difficult circumstances in Germany with its more than 800 services.
