Never far from you Europe-wide

Nagel-Group, with over 11,000 employees at more than 130 sites, is one of the leading food logistics companies in Europe. We have set ourselves the task of reliably supplying more than 500 million people in over 30 countries with food every single day.

Nagel-Group is constantly on the lookout for new sites and properties to further consolidate its network. Nagel-Group’s Real Estate division is responsible for acquiring, supporting and managing owned or rented properties.

We bring Europe together around the table

Short distances are crucial for us to maintain high quality standards in temperature-controlled food logistics while conserving valuable resources. We are constantly working to improve processes so that we can continue to guarantee the highest possible quality and reliability in the future to our customers and, of course, the end consumer.

Sustainably expanding our network is therefore a key priority for us. Our close-knit locations mean we can react flexibly to market demands and transport vital products to their destination even in times of crisis. As an employer, we also understand our responsibility to strengthen the regions in which our branches operate by securing long-term jobs with fair and attractive working conditions.

Our basic philosophy

We come for the long haul

We prefer to agree long-term contracts for both our rental properties and new construction projects. This provides secure jobs and gives regions the confidence to develop future-orientated planning strategies.

Sustainable building

Nagel-Group aims to be climate-neutral by 2030. We therefore opt for sustainable, energy-efficient construction and property equipment (e.g. modern cooling systems, waste heat utilisation and photovoltaics) as a matter of course.

Reliable (business) partner

Our customers recognise us as a trustworthy and honest partner of equals. We are proud of this. We therefore strive to live these qualities in all our business areas and to integrate ourselves into the region as a “good neighbour”.

Regional and Europe-wide benefits of our network expansion

Improved availability of goods in Europe

End consumers must be able to rely on a secure supply of basics, especially in times of crisis. Our location strategy takes political, economic and social factors into account so that our unique infrastructure means we can counter supply bottlenecks at any time.

Sustainable process optimisation

A close-knit network ensures shorter routes and shorter journey times. We can also optimise our fleet utilisation by further expanding our multi-stop model, for example. New refrigeration technology in the multi-temperature centres enables efficient temperature control between 20°C and -25°C.

Modern, safe workplaces

More than 11,500 employees working in a wide variety of fields already contribute to Nagel-Group’s success every day. Expanding our network of locations will create jobs with attractive working conditions over the next few years throughout Europe in one of the most crisis-proof sectors of the economy.

Built for the future

Sustainable property development

Bundling goods flows

Our goal: as few journeys as possible. That is why our trucks are always loaded for maximum utilisation with the most efficient route.

Environmentally friendly lighting schemes

We use LED lamps to illuminate our locations. These have low energy consumption while delivering a long service life.

CO2 emissions

We will reduce CO2 emissions from our properties by 40% by 2030. We will also achieve complete greenhouse neutrality by 2045.

E-charging stations

We provide e-charging stations to recharge our car fleet at our locations with 100% green electricity, ensuring low-emission mobility.

Energy

We aim to reduce the energy consumption required for production at our sites by 30% by 2030. At least 50% of the electrical energy required will then be obtained from renewable sources. All our new buildings are being fitted with large-scale photovoltaic systems.

Safety at work

We provide our employees with a safe and healthy working environment. We therefore aim to reduce the thousand-man quota (TMQ) (number of reportable incidents per 1,000 workforce) by at least one point per year until 2030.

Energy-efficient refrigeration

Our multi-temperature centres combine different temperature zones at a single location so that goods in different categories are kept at the right temperature with minimal energy input.
